Laurent Debart is responsible for Assets - Project & Newbuilding in BRS Brokers.

After a Bachelor’s degree in Chinese at SOAS, University of London, and a period in the French Navy, Laurent spent seven years in China as a director of commercial enterprises before joining BRS, one of the oldest world leading shipbroking companies, in Paris as a shipbroker in 2000. Two years later, he set up BRS Shanghai, then Beijing & Singapore offices as well as strongly positioning them as leaders in dry bulk, tanker chartering & new building within Asian market, eventually becoming head of BRS Asia in 2010. With 20 years of experience in both chartering & newbuilding. Laurent has also worked in the superyacht industry as CEO of YPI where he took part in the development of an 85-meter hybrid expedition commercial yacht. 

Passionate about renewable energies, Laurent strongly believes it is time for the shipping industry to adopt clean propulsion systems.
